Good to know
- The first-time exemption covers the tax on the first $500,000 — up to $8,000 — for homes up to $835,000, and phases out by $860,000.
- The newly built exemption covers the whole tax up to $1.1 million and phases out by $1.15 million. Only one exemption can be claimed; the larger one is shown.
- Not included: the 20% additional tax on foreign buyers in Metro Vancouver, the Capital, Fraser Valley, Central Okanagan and Nanaimo regional districts.
